OpenServer 5.0.5
Has existing Intel PRO/100b.
Tried to add Broadcom (bcme) card. First attempt failed (it wasn't me, so no exact error message). Subsequent attempts (with latest driver 7.5.18) cannot be tried because "netconfig" thinks there are "No network adapters are installed on the system at this moment".
Can I safely blow away the bcme entry in /etc/conf/cf.d/mdevice, relink, reboot, and retry? System is not local to me, and must remain operational.
hw -r pci shows adapter and related DEV/FUNC/BUS info.
pcislot shows resulting VendorID which matches "bcme" driver entries.
