NetCom USB Roadster 2 Modem - doesnt work

I am trying to setup this modem on RH8.0 and there is no love. I have loooked all through google for info on NetComm Roadster 2 USB linux stuff and none of it is working. hmmm.

I have created a symblic link for /dev/modem which points to /dev/usb/ttyUSB* also tried /dev/usb/ACM* and cannot get any progrees. I get the same error message everytime i try to use WVDIAL. I tried minicom and same error:

--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.53
--> Cannot open /dev/modem: No such device
--> Cannot open /dev/modem: No such device
--> Cannot open /dev/modem: No such device

So what could i do to try and fix this???
