NETBEANS platform - how to run a module

I am interested in trying out Netbeans Platform.
There is a "build and run" page, but I coud not find ANY information how to get started with a module I got (.nbm) and how to start the platform's "outer frame".

I can process something in the dark, but don't know where it goes and how to open - IF this module is an application...

Has anybody a website recommendation or any other hints, I just want to have a quick look first (speed, example apps etc.) and see something running and afterwards decide what to do.

Would be grateful for any help, thanks in advance...

drop netbeans, too slow. get eclipse. many plugins. works great. fast, reliable, built in cvs support.
