netbackup

Recently my backup rates are around 1100 KB per secon. I was getting around 2000Kb persecond until i replaced the current netbackup machine Specs:


Windows2000 Server running netbackup 3.4.1
Compaq Proliant dl380
Dual PIII 1000ghz processors
3 gigs of ram
Intel Pro 1000 gigabit adapter going into cisco 4912G gigabit switch.


I am backing up to 2 msl500 tape librarys
I have tested data transfer rates using ftp to the other servers and transfer rates run at 11646 Kbytes/Sec so I know that my network is not having trouble.

any help would be apreciated. I am backing up a mix of netware and win2k servers.

First of all,
what kind of data rae you backing up (small compressed files ...).
Are you using multiplexing with netbackup ?
