I have used the bpimage process to list backup information and used perl scripts to capture relevant information.

One thing bpimagelist does report on is the filesystem path
backed up.

E.g.
Solaris machine sun1 with two mount points
/business1 and /business2

I have defined a class containing machine sun1 and files ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES.

When I run bpimage I cnnot see which entry corresponds to which mount point.

Is there a way to query on the backup id ?

Thanks in advance

There is a hidden command called bpflist that I have used to extract reporting for clients. The output requires parsing so that it can be readable. I started writing a script that uses this but as of this writing it is not yet complete.

From what I can tell, you may need to call bpdm with the CTIME option sothat you can get the date from the backup_exit_notify script.

I know this sounds sketchy, but we have a requirement that some users want to know what files were backed-up in the last backup.

I am hoiping to have this completed in the next week or so, and if you want to wait, I can always forward you a copy.

I'd like a copy of this too please.

Many thanks.

The script is 99% done. We had a requirement to post this to a web page, so I was tied up on this. I will send the base copy which will create a file that you can e-mail to the intended recipients.

Here's my email address:

Can you send me a copy please?

Just a quick question on bpflist

I cannot get the query using the backupid to work. Am I right in thinking that the backupid is the a concatenation of the clienthostname_unixtime.

Also queries seem to be a bit hit and miss.

If I use the bpflist -U -ut 1053469877 -client unix1

The unix time doesn't always correpsond to the trystarted field in the bpdbjobs.

Or as I expect am I doing something obviously stupid.

I'd be interested in obtaining a copy of this script. Can someone provide it or point me in the right direction?

TIA!

Hi,

sorry to be a pain but could someone forward me a copy of this script as well. I intend to load Veritas activity log data into an Oracle database so that I can report on it.

It seems as though I'm not the only one who is interested in this script. Any chance someone could post it here or is it far to long to post? If not, can someone please send me a copy? johngiggs@hotmail.com

Thanks,

John

I am working on a web site that is almost complete. Anyone who needs the Unix version of the scripts can get them now. The Windows versions should be there withing the next day or two.
