Hi !
Here is the backup architecture:
Master server HP-UX 11.11 NB4.5 MP5
Media Server and client Win2000 SP4 NB4.5 MP5
Client is the same as the media server.
The storage unit use for the backup on the server is the server itself.
The backup is a SAP backup.
So I check the FAQ and the Veritas NB tuning guide to determine if the buffers are optimized.
I have the following:
in /sapbackup : in the backup log :
[928.00] 02:01:40 INF - Client completed sending data for backup
BR280I Time stamp 2004-06-15 02.02.13
BR052I BRBACKUP terminated successfully
bpbkar:
2:01:14.731 AM: [3416.3972] <4> tar_backup::OVPC_EOFSharedMemory: INF - bpbkar waited 100626 times for empty buffer, delayed 104407 times
2:01:40.169 AM: [7104.3368] <4> tar_backup::OVPC_EOFSharedMemory: INF - bpbkar waited 0 times for empty buffer, delayed 0 times
The second one should be considered as the good one to determine the wait and delay counter (in the guide they say the timestamp corresponding to the completion time of backup)
bptm:
02:01:14.747 [3836.5928] <2> write_data: waited for full buffer 86893 times, delayed 89170 times
02:02:03.497 [6164.4856] <2> write_data: waited for full buffer 0 times, delayed 0 times
In this one I have no line corresponding to the completion time of the backup. This is my problem.
So how can I compare the Wait and Delay counter between the Data producer and the data consumer ?
Should I consider the ones at the same timestamp ? 2:01:14 ?
Or is the bptm at 02:02:03 the correct line for the counter value ?
Thanks !
Julien
