I have 'Netapp SnapManager for SQL Server Management Console' installed on my Server but I have never used it. I do all my database backups using Quest Litespeed.

My server Admin wants to uninstall the Netapp SnapManager. Is there any reason I need Netapp SnapManager and it should not be uninstalled?

On my server I am using SQL Server 2005 R2. I also have a Server with SQL Server 2008 R2 that the server Admin wants to uninstalled Netapp SnapManager.

If you are taking SAN snapshots of the database LUNs then you need it. If you are not taking SAN snapshots of the database LUNs then you don't need it.
