Hi -

I am trying to decide between going with a Netapp 3020c with 7TB of SATA or an equallogic iSCSI SAN with MS Enterprise NAS Heads. Our storage doesn't require a ton of speed as most of it is archive data that is just sitting there. It seems like the NetApp will be a perfect out of box solution but it is expensive in the long run. The solution has to scale to 20+ TB. The other option seems cheaper and equally able to do the job. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Both are great solutions... The NetApp system will give you more 'ease of use' out the gate since you're looking for a NAS solutions vs a hard core iSCSI soluiton. However, if you were looking for a 'true' iSCSI solution, it'd be a tough job to select since both are excellent options. Interesting point on the Equallogic options is the striping for perforeance as you grow the amount of shelves you utilize over time....
