I understand how to use the net use command for most things, but I have a dumb question.
I have a laserjet printer with a jetdirect box. All users print directly to this printer with TCP/IP. Now I have a user who has an old DOS-based application (under Windows XP Pro) which can only print to LPT1.
Here's the question. Since no 'server' controls this printer, how do I set up the net use command?
I know it usually looks like:
net use lpt1: //servername/sharedprinter
But in this case, there is no 'servername'. I can use the TCP/IP address assigned to this printer, but then what do I use for a sharedprinter name? JL Filler,Wilton Public Schools, Wilton CT
