I have a site where I post a winning 'number' each day, manage these daily winning numbers in ASP/Access database (really simple database)... I want to build a small 'projector' application that users can run on their desktops - to be notified when the daily number is updated - not the number - but rather message on their app. that lets them know its been updated.

Do-able?

Will it only 'retrieve' an html page or text from a page 'on load' or can Get Net Text 'reload' / refresh periodically.

Im almost certain theres a way to pull this off - your help is appreciated.

thanks!

Well, this a good example to use XML.
If you can output your required data to a XML file, you can use getnetText to import that text file and parse it using either DOM-Lingo or the XML parser developed by Andy White. I wouldn't use the XML parser Xtra made by MM.
Check out for everything you need to know about using XML.
The other way would be, if you just need a very simple string to be passed, would be to write it to a txt file and then get that. Would be easier to implement I think, but would depend on your requirements.
