I've got a NetStorage problem that seems to exist because we have NAT running - but also might be a browser problem.

I can successfully run NetStorage - I get to see all my drives and download from anywhere with the Internet browser. EXCEPT - if I don't log out of NetStorage - the next person to sit down at that computer could also easily get to my files. It does not ask for a password again. You have to delete the cookies (or log out correctly) in order for it to ask again.

I wanted to try NetStorage through WebAccess but the gadget will not work with NAT. Novell has told me this and it surely appears to be correct. Novell blames the browser.

A consultant told us we would have to bypass the firewall and get to the server directly. Of course, that is not my idea of a smart move. There is also NO way I can depend on users to really log off.

Anybody have any helpful hints?

I had the issue with NAT. Instead of using ip addresses I used dns names.

Create internal DNS server and point web.abc.com to the internal address.
Create external DNS web.abc.com to the external public address.

Worked a treat. PC resolves the name, internal servers resolve the name BUT they resolve to address they can access. Lee Smith
