Net Password Affecting Outlook 2007 Password

I forced a password change for my users on my Server 2003. When my users logged in, Outlook 2007 kept crashing. I found that if you let simply let hang for about 5 minutes, it would respond. I could then go look at the configuration and the stored passwords were gone. All of the other options and config's were there but passwords gone. I was able to work through it 1 at a time. Updating each in turn.

Question would be does anyone know why why this would happen? Especially since we are not using Exchange but a POP3 server.
