I want to buy a computer and one of the deals online comes with Windows XP HOME Operating System. I want to learn .Net on that computer and would like to know if XP Home is good to run IIS and Visual Studio.Net? Or are they supported only in Professional versions of XP/2000?

IIS will only run on Pro, not Home (sigh...I learned THAT one the hard way)

Last time I checked IIS will not run on XP Home, and in addition some of the functionality of Visual Studio .NET will be limited on XP Home (I think its some of the stuff pertaining to ASP.NET added perks, but not too sure on the specifics). However there is a way to use ASP.NET on XP Home using Cassini, I plan on checking that out when I get some spare time.
