I can't seem to get past this error.
This application has failed to start because NMAS.dll was not found.Re-installing this the application may fix ths problem.

I tried that still nothing works.
Any ideas?

Try this:
1) Uninstall the app again.
2) Find the folder it was installed to (maybe under program files) and delete it.
3) Open regedit. Do a search fir the app nane. Delete each instance you find (Press the F3 key to continue the search).
4) Now try to re-install your app.

Are you running as an Administrator when installing the NetMeeting?

NMAS.DL_ can be expanded from your installation CD.

How to expand Windows XP files from the installation disk

NetMeeting

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

You could even try reregistering that Dll by typing Regsvr32 NMAS.dll in the Start Run box as an Administrator and pressing Enter.

Are you using Novell software as they have a .dll that is also called Nmas.dll which can cause problems with NetMeeting?

Reinstalling Netmeeting on Windows XP

Visit and scroll down to
Item No. 14 (left column) and click on "Uninstall/Reinstall NetMeeting".

Do you have the file Nmas.dll on the machine, it is probably a hidden and System file, so you will have to show these via Folder Option, if you do what do the file properties tell you?

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with NetMeeting.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP (Q315341)

NMAS.dll is used by the Novell Client. It's the Novell Modular Authentication Service, which controls the way you authenticate to a Novell server.

So I'm guessing that you're in a Novell environment.

How that interferes with Net Meeting I have no clue, other than it has something to do with authenticating to Net Meeting.

I don't think any of those registry/file fixing programs are going to work to correct the problem other than a system restore or...

The easy fix should be to remove the Novell client in Add/Remove programs, reboot and reinstall the client.

Hope it helps.
