I am trying to install a DOS based FoxPro product called CS on a virtual XP machine in Windows 7. I need to connect the Virtual machine to our network and then install the software from there. I will then need to make a shortcut on the XP desktop to launch this program. Also, I need to make a shortcut on the Windows 7 desktop that launches the virtual XP machine.

Problem 1:
I don't know how to connect the virtual XP comp to the network and to our software vault server.

Problem 2:
I don't know where or how to find the the installation software which should be in our software vault server.

Problem 3:
I don't know how to install said software. This will probably be solved once Problem 2 is solved, but nevertheless, it remains a problem.

If you can't help with everything, don't worry, honestly #1 is the biggest problem and the first priority. Thanks.

For Network questions/issues (Problem #1) you should post your question to a Network-specific forum and/or forum area.

This is the forum area for Visual Foxpro, not the old non-Visual versions.

You should post your DOS-based Foxpro questions to:
Microsoft: FoxPro (old versions 1 to 2.6) Forum forum182

However I wouldn't get your hopes up.
If you don't have the installation software and don't know what to do with it even if you did have it, there is only so much we can do to help.

Maybe you would get lucky (especially with the OLD versions) and could just Copy across the code and data files from the old workstation to the new one - keeping all of the directories the same. If so then you would only need to add the FP Runtime files and 'away you go'.

Unfortunately there are a lot of possible variables that could be involved that could complicate things. Especially if this were previously a Commercial product.

You might also look for a Foxpro/Visual Foxpro consultant in your area who could work with you on this application move.
NOTE - Keep in mind that if this application is Business-Critical, then don't haggle too much on consultant pricing.

Good Luck,
