I am using paradox 4.0

All was working untill yesterday.

Today I get
"Controlled by a .NET file in an older format
(your .NET file is in K:\ADATA\"

Any suggestions???

Another thing you can do when planning a multi-user system is to make sure each person's session (who will use a common Paradox application) is pointing to the same .NET file.

I am on Windows XP, so this is easy.

1. I go into control panel.
2. I double-click "BDE Administrator".
3. Click the "Configuration" tab.
4. Double-click "Drivers".
5. Double-click "Native".
6. Single-click "Paradox".
7. On the right-side of the split screen, change the path next to "NET DIR" to the same folder for each computer that will use the same system.

Example: P:\Shared\Pdox

8. Click the blue arrow button to SAVE the change, or the red arrow button to cancel.
9. Restart Paradox on each session.
10. Using this method guarantees that everyone is using the same .NET file on your network.

Example: If you have 3 people logged on using the same Paradox system and the first person has a row locked for update, the other 2 people cannot get at the row until it is no longer being edited. This is a GREAT automatic safeguard system automatically built into Paradox for multi-user applications.

Additional note: If you try to find "BDE Administrator" in the "Control Panel" and can't, try switching to its "CLASSIC VIEW".
