.net connector and Visual Web Dev Express

Hi all,
Has anyone tried to use the .net mysql provider in the visual web developer express tools ?.
I've downloaded 5.1 of the provider but can't get VWD to see it. I'm wondering if VWD is restricting what I can see.
According to the documentation it does work but all the examples are shown using the full Visual Studio.
Any help most welcome.
