.NET conferences/training

Hello all --

Just wanting to get some general feedback here. I'm trying to figure out where to go for my .NET bootcamp, and ASP.NET Connections Conference keeps showing up everywhere I look.

Now, obviously, this is a new conference, but it does have quite an impressive list of keynote speakers and a nice collection of workshops.

Microsoft is sponsoring this event, and I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience attending a conference sponsored by Microsoft. How were the speakers? Did you get enough hands-on? Do you feel you learned alot? How about the people there? Make any good contacts?

Things of that nature.

I'm also interested in hearing if anyone has attended some other conference that they thought was outstanding, and what was so great about it...

Just trying to make an informed decision about where to spend my web development training dollars, and would greatly appreciate anyone's input on the subject.

Hey link....er, Paul.


I co-worker of mine went to the recent Developer Days that Microsoft offered here in December. She said the speakers were excellent, and the workshops were very informative (the focus was .NET and XML).

I'm guessing that for the big ASP.NET party...er, developer's conference, that it would be an excellent opportunity.

Besides, lets take a step back here and look at the big picture: Your company pays you to go to New Orleans for a big geek convention about .NET. I see no down-side.

When is the ASP.NET Connections Conference? I knew about the asp.net and xml web services solutions conference in Palm Springs, CA, but not about one in LA. That would be a lot closer for me (NC)...and considering my company is the Marine Corps...it's not likely they will pay for me to go...so it would be out of pocket if I do.

Any site for info I can check out? -Ovatvvon :-Q
