I'm trying to merge a file for a preprocessor and I'm having trouble getting 2 functions in one field. I have one function that concantenates 2 fields together, then I want to do a left function of this concantenation so it cuts it off at 30 characters. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The function would look like this: =LEFT(A2 & B2,5)

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
aaa bbb aaabb

Enter the function in column 3.

Thanks everyone, I think I've got it.
