Went to Macola ES back in May and having problems with the WMS system. I talked to the developers directly there and it sounds like they are not going to accomidate us. Here are our issues:

One of the issues with WMS in ES that changed (from progression) is now everytime we scan an item it puts it as an individual receiver line even if there was multiple quantity of that item. For example if we have 5 cabinets (that usually come in on multiple trucks) our warehouse workers scan each one individually. When our AP clerk does her AP Voucher Transaction she would have to put it in 5 times (each with a quantitiy of 1). This becomes a problem when there are vouchers with over 100 line items and each line item having 5 to 10 quantity of each.

The second issue is in regards to WMS is carton/pieces. In progression WMS would not read the UOM which apparently was a 'bug' in the old system but was a benefit to us. We often order in by cartons & sell by pieces. So now when the warehouse workers scans to ship he needs to find out what the fraction is of pieces into cartons and put that into the multiplyer field on the scanner. This is becoming time consuming for us. We wish to have an option so this doesn't happen.

Surely we can't be the only company that is having this type of problem. I have not heard from the WMS department since I emailed them asking for any sort of 'work-around'.

On the receiving that sounds difficult. It would work that way even if you manually received in that fashion. I have only used WMS for shipping so I am not sure how receiving work, but does the receipt data accumulate in the barcode holding file, then need to be polled or is it realtime ?
On shipping does a case pack have the same barcode as a piece ? I beleive then use the edi bulk weight file in this fashion.

For cartons (such as siding that you put on your house) only the carton is barcoded, not each piece. So even trying to use the edi bulk weight file would not benefit us at all.

I'm not sure how the data accumulates with receiving, all I know in progression it worked fine. If they scanned in 5 cabinets seperately and when the AP clerk would do her voucher, it would show one line with a qty. of 5. I'm not sure why they changed this but I hear it from her everyday on how much it sucks. Voucher that would normally take 10 mins to do now take over 30 minutes.
