Hello everyone,

I've installed WinNt on my Laptop (Advent 7003, 512 Ram, 40GB HDD, 2GHZ) bought in UK & its supporting 16 colors and I'm looking for 256 colors.
If someone can help in solving this problem by installing the drivers, I woluld be thankful to you.

Regards,
VS

You need to go to this site Scroll down to the last paragraph and click on the link, it tells you the user name and password to use to access the drivers download. Accept the EULA and pick the drivers for the OS you are using.
This is of course if that is a stock notebook running the S3 SAVAGE 4 video card.
I will add the link to the page, but it might not work without the process of going throught the sign in page.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply. I've downloaded the drivers from the site & tried to install on to my laptop. In the halfway through while copying the files 'AN ERROR OCCURED COPYING S3SAVAGE.DLL'. Its givivng a message to ensure that the disk labelled 'S3 Incorporated Installation Disk(Video)' is in selected...

steps i've follwed...
1.Downloaded the zip files from the site & unzipped.
2.tried to change the display drives

Regards,
VS

Have you tried going to display and select reinstall drivers and point to the unzipped drivers on the drive?

Hi,

I've tried to do all the possible was & still its asking me to ensure that the disk labelled 'S3 Incorporated Installation Disk(Video)' is in selected. I've unzipped and pointed to it. but no luck...

I'll be thankful to you if u can guide me through this as i'm in a desperate situation...

I will have to defer to other resident experts, I have very little experience with NT4.It took me an hour to find the place to change NIC drivers in that OS.I am more familiar with W2K/XP.
If you have unzipped the files to a folder and gone to display and looked for the reinstall driver and told it to do so and pointed to the new folder for the drivers and it does not work, try (dont remember if it exists in nt4)add remove hardware and install new display adaptor pointing to your new drivers..

I've installed WinNt serveur on my pc compaq 128 Ram, 10GB HDD, 700GHZ) its supporting 16 colors and I'm looking for 256 colors.
If someone can help in solving this problem by installing the drivers, I woluld be thankful to you.

VS

If the machine is using AGP for video, then you need to have service pack 3 or higher in order for the video drivers to work correctly. You did not state which service pack you have intsalled so I do not know if this is your problem or not
