Need virtual memory

When I insert a particular CD and want to view the contents I got the message "I need 3MB virtual memory" while I get plenty of memory (1GB) and plenty of HDD memory left.

I never had this problem before with the same system, it's been long ago so I can not remember what changes I made that cause this problem.

Can you help.
