Need Tutorial for photos displaying one after the other

I need a tutorial that will show me how to create a very simple dissolving of one picture after the other. I've done a slide show before that needed a click to advance to the next photo. This time, I want it timed to automatically advance every so many seconds. It would be nice to also be able to dissolve to text nwo and then.

Anybody know where I can go for this?
