Need tuning advice on AIX for SAS

I am an AIX administrator in need of tuning advice.
I have SAS v8 installed on a 2 (1.45 GB) processor AIX platform with 4 GB of memory, 32GB local storage, and 50 GB of SAN storage. AIX 5.2, 64 bit.
My users are expecting lightning fast performance.
I am seeing a single CPU pegged at 100% utilization for extended periods duration the execution of their jobs.
SAS does not multithread across processors.

Can you share any tuning parameters that you use in your environment that may improve this performance?
