Need to update Project and Resources Simultaneously

When I update the Server from within MS Project, the tasks are only updated under project tab in the server and not
under the resources tab.

Some of my resources do not go to the Server to update
their tasks and they reply to the reminder notification
stating their updates. So, I update the % complete column
in the project and save in both places.

Is there a way to update my resources without them having
to do anything on the Server side?
