I don't know who manufactured my video card. SiSoft Sandra states NVIDIA as the manufacturer as does the initial boot up message.

There is no FCC number although the FCC's logo is printed on the card.

The retail box refers only to NVIDIA.

I've been using the NVIDIA detanator drivers which work fine for WinXP but not for Win98 (crashes during windows boot-up).

The Win98 driver provided on CD works fine for some games but not others.

Can anyone help?

Probably one of many referance designed cards, something like a SPARKLE.
It isn't the same Detonator driver for XP as 98 although they are both called Detonator XP the driver number is differant.
You want 23.11 Detonator drivers on the Nvidia site for 95/98/ME. Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!

Yep, I was using the correct Detonator driver. I downloaded The XP driver and the 98 driver. Both versions 23.11

Maybe I'll just have to re-install Win98 and see if that works.

Thanks anyway.

I have the same Graphics card & I cant seem to get the TV-Out working. Does anyone know how?

Have you tried RE-INSTALLING DIRECTX 8.1 ?

You probably have some OLD video drivers on your system,
maybe .vxd files.......

Also: as with most posts, you could have supplied a LOT more information about your system,,,, what mainboard, etc.

What mainboard is it ? ** VIA CHIPSET ?
Do you have the 4in1 drivers loaded up ? (the key is having the AGP driver setup).

If you wipe your hard drive clean, and re-install Win98, here is the order to install the drivers:
1st) AGP / Mainboard drivers,,,,, like VIA 4in1
( with Intel based boards it is not "4in1" so you will have to install 2 different files on the newer boards)
2nd) DIRECTX 8.1
3rd) VIDEO card drivers

Then the rest,,,,, I'm just referring to the first 3 here.

You don't say when or where the problem with your tv-out is, so i thought that i would just start with the basics.

Right click your desktop, open properties and go to the settings tab, click advanced and there should be a tab named "Twinview". On that tab you should be able to choose whether you want to clone or extend your desktop.

You might have to choose the correct output device for your TV. I did, as I live in Europe and the driver defaults to NTSC (european TVs use PAL)

Hope this helps
