Need to stop LDAP (S-10) without kill command so it doesn't restart

killing slapd is no good as it restarts itself immediately.
Any advice please?

That said, my own opinion is that you may have to look in /etc/services or similar for a respawn command perhaps?

svcadm disable /network/ldap/openLDAP seems the best option.
