Need to show sort by parameter plus nulls

My report sorts on a date field. I have two date parameters to search "between" the 2 dates that the user types in. It works great, however I need to show records that also have nulls in the date field. How do I do this?

Use a record selection formula of
IsNULL ({table.datefield}) OR
{table.datefield} in [{?startdate} to {?enddate})]
