Need to set up supervisor with observer button

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to using CS1000 and have effectively had our company's phone system dumped in my lap.

I've been asked to set up one of the users in the call centre with an observer button.

So far, I've figured that I need to add SPV to the CLS and then assign OBV to one of the keys on the phone.

When I try it the following happens:

REQ: chg
TYPE: 2216
TN: 6 6
ECHG: yes
ITEM CLS SPV
SCH5041

Can anyone give me a step by step 'idiots guide' as to how to add it?

First thing you need is a way to find out what SCH5041 means.

Get to ">" prompt with a "!" command

The ACD Agent set cannot be changed to an ACD Supervisor set. Action: To change an ACD Agent set into an ACD Supervisor set: 1. Remove the supervisor reference for that set. 2. Remove the SPID for that Agent. 3. NUL the corresponding AGT key on the Supervisor's set. Severity: Info


When you post an error message, post the meaning so we don't have to look it up :)

What that error means is "the phone you are trying to change has a Supervisor - find that TN and print it out, Remove the reference as the message instructs, then you will be able to CHG the TN into a SPV.

Also: Avoid CHG as much as possible on ACD sets. If you have symposium, deaquire the TN, then disable it before making a change. Many people will suggest never CHG: Do OUT and rebuild.
