I am trying to access pdfs using ie and it is erroring. I think we need to fix the mime type. Can some explain or show me a tutorial that could explain how to set up the mime type in ie

Are you trying to access these PDFs via a URL on a webserver and have them opened in IE? If so, MIME types in IIS are defined and setup in IIS manager, right click on the server and choose properties. Also check the preferences of the acrobat reader on the click. Check the internet section to make sure the "Open PDF in browser" option is selected (this setting only applies to PDFs accessed via a website)

Or are you simply dbl clicking a PDF in Windows Explorer and expecting Adobe to open in a browser? I am not sure if this can be done. But....if you have the seting I just mentioned enabled and then open IE and use FILE -> OPEN and browse to the PDF it should open in the browser window.
