Using Macola ES. I would like to find the proper text to use in the Macola7.ini file to block users access while we process month end.

example would be BlockUsers = True

Macola7.ini is a local file, if there is such an option, you would have to do this to every single workstation.

In Progression, you do this to the macola7.cfg file (in the macola root directory) and the line is Lock-Out=YES.

I do not believe this works in ES.

Here is some SQL that should help:

1) Revoke permissions for everyone except yourself
begin transaction
update humres
set backofficeblocked=1
where res_id<>your id

2)Then when you are done with month end, restore the permissions
rollback transaction

Having said all that, why do you feel a need to lock everyone out while you are doing month end?

This was requested by our controller due to users continuing to attempt to receive shipments and enter production during the close process.
Even though ES allows us to control which periods are closed we still have issues with transactions posting incorrectly.

It sounds like using SQL will be the answer. Thank you for responding.
