I have a spreadsheet that has patient info in it. It has 4 columns- first name, last, ss# and date of birth. 550 patients total. I need to run a report against our customer database that searches for any of these patients looking at the same fields in the dbase. Is there some way I can take a text version of this and have a report check these values?

Using crystal 10 against SQL. Thanks.

One approach would be to add the SSN in the database to your main report and group on it, and then use the spreadsheet as a datasource for a subreport (to be placed in the SSN group header) which is linked to the main report on SSN.

Ok- I've created a report with customer info in it and added a subreport using the spreadsheet as a datasource and put this in the group header after grouping the customer ssn's from the main db. I get thousands of records returned with a ssn from the main db and blanks for the spreadsheet (as expected). How do I filter out only those that match for each field? I attempted a formula but couldn't get both fields to show up. I'm sure I'm missing a step somewhere. I did link the two with the ssn. Thanks for the help, LB.

I got it, LB. I created a new report using both datasources and then linked the ssn. This gave me an inner join that included only the ssn's that matched. Thanks for your help.
