Need to retrieve data from old server after migration

Hi,

We recently did a server migration to new hardware from 6.5 to 6.5. After the last step in the migration, the old server was taken offline and the new server was brought up with the old server's identity. Since the old server has been "decommissioned", is there any way for me to access a forgotten directory from the server? The server only contains a SYS volume. If I even try to do a directory listing, it tells me that it cannot authenticate to the tree.

Any suggestions?

What I would probably try is to set it up on it's own network, remove eDirectory using nwconfig -dsremove, reinstall eDirectory using a different tree name. Then log in, get data off, connect to the production tree, and copy the data there.

Do you have a SYS.MIG folder anywhere on the new server? By default, the migration wizard will put any system folders from SYS into there. If it isn't a netware folder, you'll have to go back to your old server.

When doing migrations, I don't trust the Migration Wizard. I rely on Beyond Compare to validate that I have copied everything.
