Need to recreate user "named"

I reinstalled FC4 on my box about a month ago because I was having some serious problems (another thread, another day). Everything is back up and working, my only problem is that the user "named" doesn't exist anymore. Can this user be recreated normally, as long as I change the login shell to /sbin/nologin ? I have a second install of FC4 on a testing server and when I access named's properties in the GUI, I see that the password field is disabled so I can't change it. I know this is a special type of user, how do I go about recreating it?

You could manually copy the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow entries for named from the other box to be sure they are configured identically.
