I guess I am in a unique situation. Our user's permissions are locked down pretty tight. I don't see how they could easily change the environment variables in our environment. Maybe I don't understand how StrongM says that users can easily change environment variables. We have quite a few apps that use the Environ function to gain info and we have never had a problem. I am not saying StrongM is incorrect. I am saying that environ() has worked with out fail for us numberous times. In my defense of StrongM's hatred of environ responses, the threads I have responded to have been questions like "how can I access environ functions" not "should I use the environ function"
