need to read cd in cdrom

I need to access reference data on a cd in the cdrom of an ibm 44p model 170?
Is there an aix command which I need to use to accomplish this. Probably an avi or mpg file. Any help appreciated. Thanks

You should be able to point to the file using it's url

Dim strPath as String
strPath = "\\Server\CDDrive\FileName.mpg"

Ask your Sysadmin for the name of the server and drive

You do know this is a Visual Basic forum, and that Visual Basic will not run on AIX or a RISC-6000?

Unless, you've installed Samba on your RISC box, and you're trying to read the CD over the network?
