Does anyone know of a good place to offer a project for bid?
I have an RFP ready to go but need to know the best venue to post. I specifically need a vendor in my local area (Buffalo, NY) to do the job.
Since I have never done this I just need a tip on the procedure.

Thanks

When you have spent all day trying to work through a problem, it is best to take a step back, reevaluate the problem, then work on the next project and never let the old one show its ugly face again!!

Well, if you want a Buffalo firm, then I'd suggest consulting the Buffalo Yellow Pages. Look for an appropriate category in the Yellow pages and snail mail a copy of the rfp to every company in that category.

You could try an advertisement in the newspaper.

(You don't even hint at the type of project, size, anticipated duration or other similarly trivial matters and yet you expect help.)

Thanks for the suggestion and the tongue lashing which unfortunately propetuates the notion that all IT people have poor people skills.

It is an office digitization project. We are looking at a 60 - 100 day development time frame and would like to award a contract by 1/1/2004.

Your choice of 1/1/2004 is, well, dumb. You'll be expecting serious consideration and a reasoned response developed during the time when most businesses are working with reduced staffing complements. You would be wiser to choose 2004/1/15 or 2004/1/31.

(By the way, your inability to spell weakens your already feeble rebuke.)

lovely

Made me laugh.
English language "rules"-I before E, except after C, unless it sounds like an A as in neighbor or weigh, and you will always be wrong if you use it in May.
