need to put c8q on bcm 200 and 400 srg

Is there someone that can tell me the procedure for putting C8Q ip firmware on a SRG BCM 200 and 400. The last SU for them at 4.0 has C8J which is not high enough. Is there away to put the latest firmware on?

I've recently been involved with SRG and firmware. We had certain IP phones that wouldn't play. It's a long story, but one of my colleagues in another company who looked after the CS1000 system had to get a case raised with Avaya to get them to access the BCM 50 which we had at release 3.0 via the nnsupport level using Putty to make some changes.

I guess you have come across issues with the 2 versions of e.g. 11xx phones not working?. We found out that the older Nortel versions won't upgrade their firmware due to the certificate on the phone being out of date.

As your BCM 400 already has the "C8J", you should be OK.

My cs1k is at c8q and will not downgrade to the c8j. I just get the loop. I have a ticket opened with avaya right now and figured i would try here to see who else has encountered it. I was just told there is a procedure but he is not sure if it is something i can do or if i need them to do it. Once I have things figured out i will post the results

No worries. All I know was that the CS1K we had was at release 4.5w, so it was well out of support!. Avaya did a change on the BCM, but I don't know what they actually did.

What I do know is that the BCM 50 site now has a mixture of 0624C6R and 0624C8J Working IP Phones.
