Need to populate 2500 GroupWise "nickname" fields

My company is about to rename 2500 GroupWise users, before they start I would like to be able to fill in each users GroupWise nickname field with their current GroupWise user ID so "reply to" will still work when their GroupWise user ID changes.

Does anyone know of a good method or scripting tool that will do this? (Maybe along the lines of JRBUtils?)

We are running GroupWise 6 on NetWare 5.1
