Does anyone know the UNIX command(s) to password-protect a file? I need to zip and password-protect before sending it out by email. Thanks.

Hi ,
there is a version of pkzip called pkzip25 for AIX which allows you to set up passwords. can't remember wher i got the shreware version from , but try searching it on google
or try
One other thing you can try is using uuencode to encode the file and sending this via email to the receipient

e.g. uuencode file1 file2 | mailx -s emailaddress

more info man uuencode uudecode

You could try crypt (man crypt for details). Never used it myself though!!
