Can someone explain how to do this? I am a novice regarding firewalls/routers and I need to open this port in order to allow a connections for a virtual classroom software that will be running on a Windows XP box in a Win2k3 Domain. Could someone give me kind of a step by step on how to open this port? Also, I need to know once the port is open how to direct it to the machine that the software is running on, as the internal network are private IP addresses (192.168.1.x). I am not sure how things work as far as the port being open on the router, how does the info go thru that port and to the correct machine behind it? (is that port mapping?)

Go to the Firewall link
Then go to Access Rules
Select Matrix
Click on Wan to Lan
Click on Public Server Wizard
Click next, on server type click other
On Services, select "create new service"
Type in the name you want to call it IE:1709
Select the protocol, usually TCP
in port range type in 1709 in both port range boxes.
Then click okay. The service is created.

The service should now show 1709 as the name
Click next
Server Name: should be a reference name
Server Private IP Address: Should be the private IP of the server you connecting to
Server Comment: Again a reference such as 1709 rule
click next
It will have Server Public IP. Which you can make either your WAN IP or your OPT IP if you're using failover mode.
Click next and your finished.
