My root partition (where MS SQL Server 6.5 is currently installed) on NT Server 4.0 is full. I need to move it to a new partition on a new hard disk just added. I have no idea how to go about doing this. If anyone can get me started in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Need to move SQL Server 6.5!!

One way to do this is to do a full backup of your sql 6.5 then setup a new sql install on your new partion. After this is setup restore from your backup to your new partion. Which ever way you do it you will have to install a new copy of sql 6.5 on your new partion. So either restore, replicate, or transfer all your data manually to y our new sql server.<br><br>Jom

You dont have to move the whole SQL server, unless you decide to scrap the current partition. You can leave the SQL server untouched and move only the databases(database devices).<br><br> There are two ways with SQL 6.5 and below :- <br><br>1. Use device mirroring. Mirror the device to the
