Hi

Have just installed a single 2003 server running Exchange
2003.

Created a 20gig drive for Exchange then installed Exchange
on to the 10gig C: drive. Now Exchange is filling up the
C drive with the .log files in MDBDATA and I am worried
that it is about to crash my new server.

I have moved the priv.edb and the other edb to the 20 gig
drive. But the log files did not move across, I have run
a backup to try and clear the files, but they did not get
wiped off the drive. I hope that they may clear out at
midnight!

I checked the help documentation and that said right click
on the server container, select general and change the
directory, but that directory is not pointing at MDBDATA
and the option to change is greyed out.

Can anyone give me information how to move those pesky log
files to the 20 gig drive.

Thanks

First, do a full online backup. On completion, the committed logs will be truncated and you will have far fewer to deal with.

Next, on the properties of the storage group, change the logfile tocation.

As I said, I did a full backup using 2003 standard backup. All drives and the system state. But this didn't seem to remove any log files in the MDBDATA directory.

Then I was unable to change the logfile location on the storage group because the option to change was greyed out. Yet I was logged onto the server as administrator.
