Hello,

I need to create a Macro that opens another Word document - remove certain text paragraphs (always the same) from 2nd document and then merge with the first document. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Christer

Hi christer,
By "Merge", do you mean Mail Merge, which takes data fields from a data file and merges the data to particular pre-defined places in the form document?

Or do you mean, "copy the text from that doc and stick it somewhere in the text for this doc"?

If it's a Mail Merge, which is the data file (the current doc or the other doc)?

Thanks, Katie
Hi! I'm currently studying the COM+ programming model. Hopefully YOU'RE having fun, which would make one of us..

Hi Katie,

I mean "copy the text from that doc and stick it somewhere in the for this doc". To further clarify it, we get word document A from external company with a Quote and other specific information. Need to take several pages from document A, but exclude certain text parts such as our margin. Document A will always look the same, i.e. the information I need is on certain pages. So I need copy or merge (or whatever you call it) those pages/or text parts into our document (document B) which is a proposal containing information about our company, etc, and stick the information from document A at the end of document B (several pages - for example page 4,5,6 and 9 out of a 10 pages document). So you can say that document B is like template. So how can I get certain pages from document A into document B? Obviosuly as document A is an external document, I will have no control over inserting bookmarks, etc, so it would have to be like taking entire pages from document A and stick them into document B. If that's possible I think that would be the easiest... as opposed to look for certain text parts (don't know how that wold work, as the quote might be somewhat different each time). I have basic Visual Basic script experience, have been doing some simple find and replace scripts. Thank you for your help.
