I need to dump out Distributed File System data from LDAP queries with VBScript. If memory serves me correct, there is DFS data stored in AD in some attributes/objects. I need to be able to run 1 script in 1 place that will identify all the namespaces and other relevant data for an enterprise, so looking at WMI on the servers is not an option. Unfortunately, I do nto have access to adsiedit to even look at the environment right now, so i am reaching out for help.

Any of you have any vbscript code laying around to find DFS data from AD? What classes/objects/attributes hold any DFS data in AD?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you considered maybe using dfsutil?

dfsutil /domain:yourdomain /view

Shows you the roots

probably run that command to get the roots and then use the other commands to get the target servers for each of the links under that root.

I did think about that, but because of issues in the environment, I am not sure that use of dfsutil will be allowed.

I know its weird, but it may be that way.
