Need to know national version of OS

I need to find the exact version of the running operating system - including the national version.

Any help on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

Isn't that just a case of getting the version of Windows and then getting the locale?

The Locale - isn't that just the national settings in the windows? If so then no. I need to know if it is an english, german, french version of Windows that is installed.

The Windows Version number is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion
(on a W95B install anyway)I don't know if this will help.

The locale settings are stored in the registry:
HKEY_Current_User/Control Panel/International
Here are the values:
sCurrency
Locale
sShortDate

In "Locale" the country code is stored.
The codes I know are:
German (Luxemburg) "00001007"
German (Austria) "00000C07"
German (Swizerland) "00000807"
German (Germany) "00000407"
