need to import from excel to ACT

Hi all !

i have tried importing data from excel into ACT but unfortunately it does not import correctly, the right contact names sometimes do not coincide with the correct company and the entire address for each company does not get copied across, not sure why, maybe because only a certain number of characters can be taken in each box.
Can someone pls tell me how i can do this correctly
