Need to handle < and > characters in tag values

[BTJSWITZER]

Data being sent contains < > in the value itself

ex:

<title>TEST < TITLE > TEST</title>

The actual value is (the < and > in this case are NOT part of XML):

TEST < TITLE > TEST

I am realy new to this, suggestions?

I cannot remove the values as user's wish to keepp these
characters.

You must change them to the general entities, &_lt; and &_gt; (Omit the underscores--they're only there to keep this forum from interpreting the entities and displaying the characters.)

Same goes for ampersand: use &_amp;
