Need to get position of a rendered control and return it's location

I have a page where I have links that pop open div's when clicked. I want to be able to figure out the location on the page (top and left values) of the link that is generated so I can use tha value when I set the style of on the div. Any suggestions on how to best do this?

You'll have to use javascript to do this. Have a look at the exaple here which shows how to use the location to pop up another element.
