Sure i can... but in the future u dont have access anymore to your BCM on KRS since Nortel swap System ID to my company then... So u can never add new Keycodes anymore....
Well this is the first time this system has ever been up, we are going to upgrade it for a while. The company I bought it from sent the Auth codes but not the Key codes.
Then he tried to tell me that they were in the system and ready to go, but they are not. When you get these things they don't have anyting in them.
We plan to get cerified but it will be awhile before we are, so I was wondering if there was anyone who could help us out.
yeah there will many people help u...but as i said already.... if u have a system id with no authcodes on it yet it will be logged to the account who enter the authcodes and only that company will be able to get access to this anymore.........
I frequently purchase auth codes from different vendors and each vendor is able to access my system in the KRS to add the auth code and generate a new .lic file for me. One of these two companies sold me the system but both are capable of adding new auth codes to the system.
That might be... but then that are probably small vendors who are buying both their stuff from another vendor who has a direct contract with nortel. We did buy some used BCM and they were all from different vendors... we needed to ask nortel to subscribe the sytsem id to our vendor so that we can add keycodes to it... the KRS did always show that we didnt had rights b4 and that this system id is already used by a different vendor... do your vendors have a direct sales contract with nortel?
Ah ok, thanks for the explanation. One of my vendors is quite small and the other is very large. I know that the large one would have a direct nortel contract but I highly doubt the smaller one would. What you're saying makes perfect sense as they are both in the same geographical area so the smaller one is likely purchasing through the larger one.
Thanks for the info re the contract. I'll see if they will grant me access as it would be much more convenient to access it myself (rather then having to contact someone every time I need to install another auth code). The same goes for system patches, but that's a whole other story.
